THE MILL is an independent coffee shop located in the vibrant heart of Long Island City, one of New York’s most rapidly evolving neighborhoods.
Our mission is simple: to offer excellent coffee and wholesome, flavorful foods in a welcoming atmosphere that reflects our community’s growing demand for quality. And it all starts with providing the best-quality drinks, sandwiches, soups, baked goods, and local treats and specialty products in a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.
THE MILL provides its well-traveled corner of Long Island City with something it had been lacking—a casual gathering place where people who live, work, and play in the area can stop and mingle, kick back, recharge, converse, see familiar faces, or meet new friends in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Come for coffee in the morning. Drop by for a delicious, homemade lunch—to stay or take away. And visit us on your way home, as you make the transition from work time to you time.
OUR SHOP
THE MILL was founded by Nina Sisselman Brian, who collaborated with Long Island City design studio Neue Atelier and the general contracting teams from Design Development NYC to create a stylish, industrial-chic coffee house that honors the history, positive energy, and vital creative spirit of our neighborhood. Tradition, commerce, and culture merge in an environment that is artful, original, beautifully illuminated, and, always, meticulously clean. The look is timeless—and so is the playlist, with deep cuts from vintage vinyl emanating from the turntable.
